2. Play All Weekend
Invite friends, install plugins, and change versions. You get the same control panel as every MCHosts customer.
3. Keep It, or Don't
Hit Keep My Server on your account page to move it onto a paid plan. It takes about a minute, with 50% off your first month. Not keen? Download your world and let it expire. You'll never be charged.

What is a Free Server Weekend?
A Free Server Weekend is an MCHosts event that runs on select weekends. A limited number of people can claim their own Minecraft server, completely free, typically from Friday afternoon until early Monday morning AEST. It is a full server with the same control panel, backups, and support as every paid MCHosts server.
Do I need a credit card to claim a free server?
No. Claiming needs no payment details at all. A card is only needed if you choose to keep the server after the weekend, and nothing is ever charged automatically.
What happens when the weekend ends?
If you do nothing, the server and its world are deleted at the event's end time and you are never charged. If you want to keep playing, click Keep My Server on your account page before the event ends and it becomes a normal paid server with a discount on your first month. Same address, same world, no interruption.
Who can claim a free server?
Anyone in Australia with a verified email address. One claim per account per event, and spots are limited, first come, first served. Existing MCHosts customers are welcome to claim too. The free server is a brand new second server, separate from any paid server.
Can I download my world if I don't keep the server?
Yes. Free servers are standard servers, so you can zip and download your world from the control panel any time before the event ends and take it with you.
When is the next Free Server Weekend?
Free Server Weekends run a few times a year on select weekends. This page always shows the next event, with a live countdown once one is scheduled.
