About Life in the village
Millenaire and Minecolonies do the work here. Millenaire drops in NPC villages from different cultures that build and upgrade themselves without you, while Minecolonies gives you a settlement you plan and command. It stays low tech and close to vanilla, so the pace is slow by design.
