About SevTech: Ages
SevTech hides the game from you and hands it back in stages. Ore does not appear at all until you have earned it, recipes stay hidden until you have progressed far enough to need them, and new mobs turn up as you advance. You start with no map and almost no recipes, and that is the design rather than an oversight.
